MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Country Roads Angel Network (CRAN) announced today that it received a $25,000 grant from The Huntington National Bank to support entrepreneurial development in West Virginia.

“I always say that West Virginia is the best place in the country to start a business,” said Chad Prather, Huntington’s regional president in West Virginia. “We are proud to support the Country Roads Angel Network and its commitment to helping entrepreneurs across the state access the funding and resources they need to launch a successful business.”

CRAN is West Virginia’s first accredited angel investment network. It was created with the goal of expanding and strengthening entrepreneurial investment and development in the Mountain State. Since its founding in 2019, CRAN has made more than $1.3 million in direct investments in just under a dozen start-ups, plus enabled more than $8 million in additional capital to be raised.

CRAN President Frank Vitale said the grant from Huntington will help CRAN support the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in a great way.

“We are extremely grateful to Huntington for their generosity and commitment to entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses throughout West Virginia,” Vitale said.
